Fine print

The New Oriental TEFL course is a 28 day intensive course that consists:

  • 5 separate modules
  • 1 final quiz exam
  • Discussion board
  • Course reader.

To fulfill the requirements for a New Oriental TEFL certificate the applicant must:

  • Complete 8 assignments by the due date (as seen in the schedule). Each module has 2 assignments that should be handed in AT THE SAME TIME!
  • Each assignment should be about 500 words but length and content depends solely on the student.
  • Module 5 does not require a written assignment, however requires a course quiz that must be handed in by the due date. This will be marked within 24hrs.
  • For each module students must make at least one thread of discussion and be seen to actively participate in all discussions.
  • Video footage must be seen and reviewed.
  • Student must undertake 6hours practical classroom viewing

The breakdown of grades is as follows:

  • Each assignment is graded out of 10.
  • Quiz is graded out of 70 (each question is 1 point)
  • Participation is 10 points
  • Final classplan is 30 points
  • Bonus points: Skype phone interview 10 points.
  • Total points of the course: 200 points

¡¡¡¡To pass the ¡®New Oriental TEFL certification¡¯ you must have a points average of 65% or higher. Students with a points average between 90-100% will be awarded the ¡®Gold New Oriental TEFL Certificate¡¯ consisting of your TEFL certification plus a high achievement gold Medallion.
