Course structure

The “New Oriental Advanced TEFL” course is a 28 day intensive TEFL training course covering 5 modules of ESL teaching. Each module focuses on the most important theory there is in TEFL teaching today!

Modules

• Module 1 covers: My favourite teacher/ the East vs West dilemma
• Module 2 covers: Historical approaches and Total Physical Response
• Module 3 covers: Classplan preparation/games
• Module 4 covers: Video component
• Module 5 covers: grammar in the classroom

At the end of each module a 1000 word essay covering the module is to be handed in. At New Oriental we reply to your assignments within 24hrs with honest and constructive feedback.

Course quizzes
There is one final multiple choice quiz that covers the entire grammar section. This gives a complex overview of all you need to know about grammar.

Phone interview content
“New Oriental Advanced TEFL” is the most innovative and personal online TEFL available. English is a communication tool, not a subject and at Oriental Panda we feel you, our students should be in personal contact with our teachers. Using your Skype address, our experienced teachers will be in contact with you during the course to give you feedback and support about teaching and the field of ESL.

Video streaming content

With our “UpVideo ESL”, we let you see ESL theory at work. ‘UpVideo’ is to cement your knowledge and understanding of ESL.

Gradings

• Each assignment is graded out of 10.
• Quiz is graded out of 70 (each question is 1 point)
• Participation is 10 points
• Final classplan is 30 points
• Bonus points: Skype phone interview 10 points.
• Total points of the course: 200 points
