We want you to set up English teaching programs in Chinese kindergartens near you. You will be DD Dragon’s partner, not worker. You will get a share of the profits, not a salary. And you will be entitled to your profits for the rest of your days on this planet.

How it work

DD Dragon has a new and unique DVD-based teaching system to accompany its series of kindergarten books. All the lessons (which are 30-minutes in length) have been put on DVD. The original kindergarten teacher and her students watch the DVD and then practise what they've learned. This means that English can now be taught in kindergartens that don’t have the ability or resources to find a foreign English teacher. So what does this have to do with you? We all know that foreigners are and always will be a huge drawcard for Chinese parents when signing their kids up for English classes. And this is where you come in.

You will approach kindergartens in and around the Chinese city where you currently live, and propose to the school principal that he starts an after-school DD Dragon English program, with each class studying for half an hour at a time, twice a week.

For example, if the kindergarten has 150 students, then they probably have 6 classes (25 kids in a class). So the DD Dragon English classes would run concurrently on, let's say Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3pm to 6pm (ie. 6 classes of 30 minutes makes 3 hours in total). These classes would be taught by the students' original kindergarten teachers, using the DD Dragon DVD's.

So why do they need you?

Firstly, you will promise the school principal that you will train his Chinese teachers in the use of the DD Dragon DVD's and system before the program is put into place.
Furthermore, you will visit his school once a month to check on things and to test whether the students' English has improved. This will be a huge plus for both the principal and the parents, since we all know how revered a “laowai” is in China.

What are your profits (per school)?

Each parent will pay RMB200 for tuition fees per semester (half a year), during which time the child will complete one DD Dragon book.
The parent will also pay RMB99 per semester to purchase the course material (this includes a student book, a workbook, 2 DVDs and vocabulary cards).

So over a year (2 semesters) each parent will pay RMB400 tuition fees, and RMB198 for materials.

You will be rewarded for your efforts in the following way:

Of the RMB400 for tuition (per student per year) you will receive RMB200 (per student per year).
The remaining RMB200 will be given to the school as a donation.
On top of your RMB200 (per student per year) from the tuition fees you will also receive RMB60 (per student per year) from the RMB198 for course materials.

So you will receive a total of RMB260 per student per year.

If the kindergarten has 150 students you will receive

RMB260 X 150 = RMB39,000 per year per kindergarten

However, it's also a good idea?to make a donation to the school principal and the teachers involved in the program, just to get them?on board and keep them motivated.? If you give him a total of RMB5,000 then that leaves you with RMB34,000 per school.

Total Profits

Since you only need to visit each kindergarten one afternoon every month you could easily set this program up in 20 kindergartens.So in a year you could make RMB34,000 X 20 = RMB680,00

This is an average of RMB56,000 per month (and don’t forget kindergartens close for 3 months over the summer, so you’ll still be making this fat profit while you’re having an extended holiday in some tropical paradise) Unlimited Potential Of course, if you wish to expand to the point of having 20 kindergartens you will need a Chinese assistant, which will cost you about RMB2,000 per month. But that still leaves you with a monthly profit of RMB54,000 And if that’s not enough, you could still expand further by hiring a foreign teacher and another Chinese assistant, and setting up this program in another 20 kindergartens, and then another 20 kindergartens …

When it comes time for you to leave China you’ll have earned a fortune, and you’ll be running a large and legitimate business. You can then either sell this business, or you can find a good manager to run it while you’re retired back home watching all your friends trying to pay off their mortgages with their meagre after-tax salaries.

Or you could just keep doing what you’re currently doing, earning a bit, spending most of it, living month to month just like all the other rats in the race.
